Manchester United host Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford. The Reds are undefeated in seven of their last eight matches against Manchester United in all competitions. The Red Devils will seek to overturn their recent form against Liverpool but must do so with a lengthy injury list.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be without midfielder Paul Pogba for Liverpool’s arrival. Pogba is recovering from an injury and spent the international break in Dubai recouping.
Goalkeeper David De Gea was set to miss the fixture just a day ago. However, the Manchester Evening News stated the shot-stopper was a “major doubt”. It appears Manchester United are hopeful the Spaniard can play but reports earlier in the week had him listed as out of the fixture.
Although Pogba and De Gea will miss the match against Liverpool, Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka could both make the squad.
Martial has been out of action for the last two months with muscle injuries. He had started the season well for the Red Devils with two goals and one assist in three league matches. Wan-Bissaka has been recovering from an illness that has finally subsided.
Liverpool are also sweating the fitness on players as well. Mohamed Salah limped off in Liverpool’s last league game against Leicester City with an ankle injury. Salah suffered a cynical challenge from Hamza Choudhury that could have caused the winger a more serious injury.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker could start against Manchester United for just the second time this league season. Alisson suffered a calf muscle tear against Norwich City in Liverpool’s season opener. Centre-back Joel Matip could also return to the starting XI for Liverpool. The defender signed a new long-term contract at Anfield on Friday sealing his future at the club.
Liverpool defeated Manchester United at Anfield last season 3-1. The loss by the Red Devils influenced the club to sack manager Jose Mourinho. Manchester United got some revenge on Liverpool in their meeting at Old Trafford in February with a nil-nil draw. The dropped points helped prevent Liverpool from winning the league title.
Seven of the last eight matches in all competitions between Liverpool and Manchester United ended in wins for the Anfielders.
