Cork v Roscommon, Sunday, 4 pm, Pairc Ui Rinn
This game is a dead rubber due to the teams sitting on two losses each from their super 8 games with Tyrone and Dublin. However, both sides will want to win this nonetheless and not finish bottom of Group 2 of the Super 8’s.

This will be Cork’s 6th championship of the year and they have improved in each an everyone one of those, considering they were relegated to Division 3 for 2020 they certainly didn’t play like a Division 3 team in losses to Dublin, Tyrone and Kerry especially. Ronan McCarthy will probably want a win here to the end year on a high. He will look to players like James Loughrey. Mattie Taylor and Thomas Clancy in defence. In attack, Paul Kerrigan, Luke Connolly and Mark Collins will look to have big games as will Brian Hurley and Ruairi Deane.
Roscommon and Anthony Cunningham will be rather disappointed with their performances in the Super 8’s albeit they are the Connacht Champions but they still would have liked to have got to an All-Ireland semi-final. It will be the Rossies 6th game of the summer, having beaten Leitrim, Mayo and Galway in Connacht, they then lost to Dublin and Tyrone in the super 8’s. In saying that they will want to go out of the championship with a bang. In defence, Conor Daly, Ronan Daly and Niall Daly are all superb footballers, while Tadgh O’Rourke and Shane Killoran have an excellent midfield partnership. Diarmuid Murtagh, Conor Cox and Enda Smith will likely be key men in the attack.

Betting
Cork are 8/15 favourites, while Roscommon are priced at odds of 2/1. The draw is 8/1. I think Cork at home will be difficult to beat, therefore Cork -2 at 10/11 would be my selection.
