The draw has been made for the Elite round of the European U-19 Championship. Ireland have been drawn in group one alongside Azerbaijan, Romania and Russia who will host the mini-tournament. Tom Mohan’s side qualified for this phase by winning group 10 of the first phase, where they defeated the Faroe Islands, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Holland.
Ireland were captained by Manchester United youngster Lee O’Connor, while Troy Parrott (Tottenham) and Adam Idah (Norwich) provided the main goal threats. The Elite phase sees seven groups of four compete to join host nation Armenia in the Finals tournament to be held from 14th to 27th July 2019. The Elite phase is scheduled to take place in Russia from March 18th to the 26th 2019.
