Austrailian outhalf David Horwitz is poised to make his PRO14 debut for Connacht against Dragons at the Sportsground tomorrow. He is one of six changes made by head coach Andy Friend after last weeks disappointing 22-17 loss to the Ospreys in Bridgend.
Some of those changes are enforced as Bundee Aki, Quinn Roux and Finlay Bealham are all in Chicago as part of the Irish squad to face Italy tomorrow. However, Kieran Marmion has been released back to Connacht by Joe Schmidt in order to give him game time as he recovers from injury.
Conor Carey replaces Finlay Bealham in the front row, while James Cannon comes into the second row alongside Ultan Dillane to replace Quinn Roux. The only change in the back row sees Colby Fainga’a start after an impressive cameo off the bench last week when he came in for the injured Paul Boyle.
In the backs, Horwitz replaces the rested Jack Carty and Colm De Buitlear comes in for Niyi Adeolokun. In the final change, Bundee Aki is replaced by Kyle Godwin at centre.  Friend will hope to see a much brighter start from his charges. They went into last weeks game against the much depleted Ospreys full of optimism, but two tries for the home side in the opening ten minutes made getting a result an uphill challenge.
