Aidan O’Brien will be well-represented in the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday as Spirit Of Valor, Intelligence Cross, US Navy Flag and Fleet Review are all set to contest the 6 furlong (1,200) weight for age race.
All four horses have already had a run in Australia, on 13th October, when Spirit Of Valor fared best, finishing second in the Group 2 Keno Schillaci Stakes over 1,100m at Caulfield. Fleet Review was 9th in the same race and Intelligence Cross finished 12th. On the same day, US Navy Flag was a disappointing 9th behind Redzel in the TAB Everest over 6 furlongs (1,200m) at Randwick.
Oisín Murphy will ride Spirit Of Valor, Emmet McNamara will take the mount on Intelligence Cross, Fleet Review will be ridden by Australian jockey Kerrin McEvoy, with Ryan Moore partnering US Navy Flag as the Ballydoyle trainer aims to win his 14th Group 1 race of the season.
